Important Note
In the vicinity of Sasan Gir, there are several famous tourist attractions.
Both pilgrims and tourists visit Somnath Temple. Everyone should witness the stunning temple architecture and serene atmosphere. It is considered sacred since numerous legends are linked to it as one of India's most well-known Hindu temples. The first of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlinga shrines are located at the Somnath Temple. The Ghazni monarch Mahmud had repeatedly damaged the Somnath temple. Through their efforts, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and K. M. Munshi rebuilt the shrine in 1947. The current temple was built in the Chalukya style, displaying the talent of the Sompura Salats, one of Gujarat's master masons.
Diu, a tranquil windswept island off the coast of Gujarat, is a stunning example of unadulterated natural beauty. Diu was a Portuguese colony from 1539 to 1961; therefore, it is drenched in Portuguese history. Diu experiences beautiful weather all year long. The most popular picnic location in Diu is Nagoa Beach. The unique feature of this location is that it is built in the shape of a shoe.
Amid Gir National Park, a sacred Hindu location is known as Kankai. Tourists must travel roads through the deep rainforest to see some of the forest wildlife. It is a shrine to Kankeshwari Mata, the protector of the Gir forest shepherds. This temple is well-known because it is where Arjuna, a prominent figure from the Indian epic the Mahabharata, comes to life. Twenty-two kilometers ahead of the Kankai temple is another Mahadev temple known as "Banej." Due to the open surroundings, travelers have occasionally observed lions near the temple or the river.
Gujarat's highest peak, Mount Girnar, is also one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in the state. It's an arduous 10,000-step trek to the summit! The staircase starts at Damodar Kund, where Narsinh Mehta, a poet from the fifteenth century, used to take a bath and write the majority of his morning songs. You arrive at a Jain temple complex on a plateau after ascending 4000 stairs. Amba Mata Temple (the Mother Goddess), which is two thousand steps away, is frequented by Hindus, Jains, and newlyweds in search of blessings for a successful union. Even though the additional 2000 steps are terrifying, the journey is well worth it for the summit's breathtaking panoramic vistas. The stone path continues to reach the other summits for another 1000 steps up and 1000 steps down.
